School-Based Social Worker (LCSW / LMSW)

Mobile Counseling of New York is seeking dedicated and compassionate School-Based Social Workers to provide counseling and support services to students within partnering school districts. This role focuses on improving students' emotional, behavioral, and social well-being while collaborating closely with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

This is a 12-month position designed to provide continuity of care and professional stability beyond the traditional academic calendar. Clinicians typically maintain a target caseload of approximately 20 sessions per week, with flexibility based on school needs and clinician availability.

During school breaks and holiday periods, clinicians have opportunities to provide telehealth sessions to maintain continuity of care and support consistent income.

This position is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about working with youth, value collaboration, and want to make a direct impact in educational settings while maintaining year-round clinical engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to students in school settings
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in our electronic health record
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and external providers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations
  • Support crisis intervention and safety planning as needed
  • Engage parents and guardians to promote continuity of care
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards of social work practice

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Current New York State license as LCSW or LMSW (required)
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or families preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Knowledge of evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, MI, or trauma-informed care is a plus
