About Julia
Julia Wysocki, LMSW, is a compassionate and skilled therapist with two years of experience supporting children, families, and adults through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo in 2016 and holds specialized certification in DC:0-5, reflecting her commitment to early childhood mental health. Julia's clinical expertise includes treating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral challenges, social skills development, school adjustment issues, family stressors, and trauma-related concerns. Drawing from a diverse toolkit that includes CBT, SFBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, family systems therapy, behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation, she tailors her approach to meet each client's unique developmental level, emotional needs, and personal goals.
Julia's therapeutic approach is rooted in a strengths-based, trauma-informed framework that prioritizes building a strong therapeutic alliance and creating a safe, supportive environment for growth. In her work with children, she skillfully integrates play therapy and cognitive-behavioral interventions to help young clients identify and express emotions, develop adaptive coping skills, and improve overall functioning. She actively involves caregivers in the therapeutic process to ensure consistency and reinforce progress at home. With adolescents and adults, Julia takes a collaborative, client-centered approach, utilizing cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapies to address anxiety, stress, adjustment challenges, and interpersonal concerns. She is dedicated to helping clients develop insight, strengthen coping strategies, and make meaningful, sustainable changes that align with their values.
What drives Julia's work is a deep commitment to helping individuals across the lifespan build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and feel more in control of their lives. Her decision to become a therapist stemmed from a strong desire to help others feel understood, supported, and capable of overcoming challenges—a passion that has only grown through her work with children and families. Outside of her professional life, Julia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, and reading. She values staying active, exploring new places, and maintaining a healthy balance between her personal and professional life. An adventurous spirit at heart, Julia approaches both cooking and life with flexibility and creativity, preferring to figure things out as she goes rather than following a strict recipe.
