About Erica
Erica Nicholson, LMSW, brings a compassionate and individualized approach to her work with young adults and adults at Mobile Counseling of New York. With her Master of Social Work degree from the University at Buffalo (2023) and two years of dedicated practice, Erica specializes in supporting clients through trauma, ADHD, anxiety, relationship concerns, and the challenges of self-doubt and perfectionism. Her commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment allows clients to feel comfortable being authentically themselves throughout their healing journey.
Drawing from a diverse toolkit of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Person-Centered approaches, Erica takes a trauma-informed perspective that honors each client's unique experiences and needs. She believes deeply in meeting clients where they are and collaborating with them to develop practical tools that feel realistic and sustainable for their everyday lives. Her approach emphasizes helping clients better understand their thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns while building the confidence and skills needed for lasting positive change.
What drives Erica's passion for therapeutic work is witnessing the transformative growth that occurs when clients begin to view themselves with greater compassion and develop stronger, healthier relationships. She finds profound meaning in supporting people through difficult moments and celebrating their progress, whether big or small victories. When she's not providing counseling services, Erica enjoys exploring new places through travel, which enriches her perspective and understanding of the diverse experiences that shape our lives.
